March 2010 Fishing Report
March 1 - The Barker Smith group
raised 9 sails on Gypsy and released 2 on fly. Also, they caught
a 200+ Blue marlin on fly. That is the 3rd marlin on fly in 3 weeks!!
The Wright group raised 25 sailfish on Chubascon
and released 2 on fly and 2 conventional.
March 2 - The Barker Smith group
raised 15 sailfish on Gypsy and released 2 on fly. Ray & Marlene
now have 492 billfish released on fly in their lives. We were hoping
for #500 at Sailfish Bay and fell just short. Ray & Marlene
have released 129 of their 500 billfish at Sailfish Bay Lodge. Congratulations.

February 2010 Fishing Report
Feb 1 - The Page group raised
32 sailfish on Gypsy and released 22 conventional.
Feb 2 - Donny, Nick, and Judd
McClure arrived for their 3rd trip to SBL. Also joining them were
Brenda McClure, Joe Davis, Michael Mayo and Whitney McDaniel.
Fishing on Gypsy they raised 13 sailfish and released
8 conventional. They also caught 1 dorado.
Fishing on Ballena they raised 22 sailfish and
released 13 conventional. They also caught 1 dorado.
Joe Draper, John Bencie, Russ Novak, Chris Parsons,
and Chip Davis arrived for their 3rd trip to Sailfish Bay.
Fishing on Sirena they raised 21 sailfish and released
14 conventional.
Fishing on Bora Bora they raised 20 sailfish and
released 13 conventional. Also caught a dorado.
Feb 3 - The McClure group raised
19 sailfish on Gypsy and released 11 conventional.
The McClure group raised 13 sailfish on Ballena
and released 10 conventional.
The Draper group raised 15 sailfish on Gypsy and
released 10 conventional.
The Draper group raised 22 sailfish on Bora Bora
and released 17 conventional.
Feb 4 - The McClure group raised
28 sailfish on Gypsy and released 14 conventional.
The McClure group raised 35 sailfish on Ballena
and released 21 conventional.
The Draper group raised 22 sailfish on Sirena and
released 9 conventional.
The Draper group raised 32 sailfish on Bora Bora
and released 16 conventional.
Feb 5 - The McClure group fished
inshore on Gypsy with the goal of getting a Roosterfish. They landed
3 Roosters and 3 jacks.
The McClure group raised 11 sailfish on Ballena
and released 4 conventional.
The Draper group raised 8 sailfish on Fantasea
and released 3 conventional.
The Draper group raised 18 sailfish on Sirena and
released 15 conventional.
Marc Barron, Eric Barron, Guy Barron and Daniel
Lemisch arrived at Sailfish Bay. Fishing on Bavarian they raised
16 sailfish and released 7 conventional. They also caught 2 yellowfin
tuna.
Feb 6 - The Barron group raised
9 sailfish on Bavarian and released 3 conventional. They also caught
3 dorado.
Feb 7 - The Barron group raised
10 sailfish on Bavarian and released 7 conventional.
Marc Felton arrived for his 6th trip to Sailfish
Bay. Pat Totaro arrived for his 3rd trip with us. Fly fishing on
Gypsy they raised 9 sailfish and released 3 on fly rods.
Feb 8 - The Felton group raised
8 sailfish on Gypsy and released 1 on fly.
Joe Turano, Joe Doggett, Ernie Cockrell, and Jim
Easterling arrived for their 3rd trip to Sailfish Bay. They were
also joined by Joe 'Pepe' Schwartz and Chase Schwartz.
The Turano group raised 8 sailfish on Maverick
and released 1 on fly.
The Turano group raised 10 sailfish on Bavarian,
6 strikes and released 1 on fly.
The Turano group raised 13 sailfish on Cayuco,
7 strikes and released 4 on fly.
Paolo Pacchiarini, Roberto Delgrosso, Franco Rossetti,
and Giampietro Saggini arrived from Italy. Fishing on Sirena they
raised 5 sailfish and released 1 on fly with 3 strikes.
Fishing on Chubascon they raised 14 sailfish and
released 2 on fly.

The Turano group raised 12 sailfish on Cayuco and
released 2 on fly.
The Turano group raised 15 sailfish on Ballena
and released 3 on fly.
The Turano group raised 8 sailfish on Bavarian
and released 2 on fly. They also caught 1 yellowfin tuna.
The Pacchiarini group raised 8 sailfish on Sirena.
They released 2 yellowfin tuna.
The Pacchiarini group raised 18 sailfish on Chubascon
releasing 3 on fly. They also caught 1 160 lb Marlin on fly!!!.

The Pacchiarini group raised 20 sailfish on Sirena
and released 5 on fly.
Feb 12 - The Pacchiarini group
raised 20 sailfish on Chubascon and released 2 on fly.
Check this out. The Pacchiarini group raised 3
sailfish on Sirena, but released another Marlin on fly!!. Estimated
at about 200 lbs. 2 marlin on fly for the same group. Nice job.
Mark Dunham and Dr. Clay Padginton arrived for
1 day of fishing. On Gypsy they raised 28 sailfish and released
15 conventional.
Feb 14 - Kevin and Donna Brown
arrived at Sailfish Bay. Fishing on Maverick they raised 5 sailfish
and released 3 conventional.
Captain John Tucker and Meres Tucker arrived at
SBL. Fishing on Sirena they raised 6 sailfish and released 4 conventional.
Steve Eberly, Jerry O'Daniel, and David Danforth
for some Guatemala fishing. On Gypsy they raised 10 sailfish and
hooked 2 on fly with 0 releases.
Feb 15 - The Brown group raised
17 sailfish on Maverick and released 8 conventional.
The Eberly group raised 18 sailfish on Gypsy and
released 8 conventional.
The Tucker group raised 22 sailfish on Sirena and
released 12 conventional.
Feb 16 - The Brown group raised
16 sailfish on Maverick and released 6 conventional.
The Eberly group raised 16 sailfish and released
3 on fly.
The Tucker group raised 11 sailfish on Sirena and
released 8 conventional.
Eduardo Sanchez and Tony Rivera and Tony Rivera
arrived for their 3rd trip to Sailfish Bay. Fishing on Cayuco they
raised 12 sailfish and released 3 on fly.
Feb 17 - The Sanchez group raised
8 sailfish on Cayuco and released 1 on fly.
Feb 18 - The Sanchez group raised
23 sailfish on Cayuco and released 4 on fly.
Jim Gardner returned to Sailfish Bay for his 4th
trip. Joining Jim this year was his wife Judy. Fishing on Gypsy
they raised 13 sailfish and released 10 conventional.
Schley Gordy, Bill Gordy, Jim Coppage, and Jason
Elrod arrived at SBL. Fishing on Maverick they raised 4 sailfish
and released 4 sails conventional in a 1/2 day.
Fishing on Bavarian they raised 18 sailfish and
released 9 conventional.
Feb 19 - The Gardner group raised
10 sailfish and released 8 conventional. They also caught 2 large
dorado.
The Gordy group raised 26 sailfish on Maverick
and released 11 conventional.
The Gordy group raised 22 sailfish on Bavarian
and released 6 conventional.
Feb 20 - The Gardner group raised
13 sailfish and released 8 conventional.
The Gordy group raised 15 sailfish on Sirena and
released 13 conventional.
The Gordy group raised 12 sailfish on Bavarian
and released 5 conventional.
Feb 21 - Ted Payseur, Bill Koehn,
Bill and John Hall arrived at SBL. Fishing on Gypsy they raised
15 sailfish and released 10 conventional.
Paul Hollinger & Michael Henry arrived at Sailfish
Bay. Fishing on Maverick they raised 11 sailfish and released 9
conventional.
Feb 22 - The Payseur group raised
15 sailfish on Gypsy and released 9 conventional.
The Hollinger group fished a 1/2 day on Gypsy and
missed 2 sails on fly rods.
Feb 23 - The Payseur group raised
10 sailfish on Gypsy and released 6 conventional.
Feb 24 - The Payseur group went
inshore and raised 17 Roosterfish and released 10! They also caught
1 dorado.
Jim Beard arrived for his 3rd trip with us. Also
joining him were Dave & Kevin Hopp, George Marshall, Chet Williams,
Ed Battochio, and John Churnetski.
Fishing on Bavarian they raised 4 sailfish and
released 2 conventional.
Fishing on Maverick they raised 7 sailfish and
released 4 conventional. They also caught 1 dorado.
Feb 25 - The Beard group raised
37 sailfish on Cayuco and released 15 conventional.
The Beard group raised 7 Roosters inshore on Maverick
and released 3 conventional.
Ray Barker Smith and Marlene White returned for
their 4th trip to Sailfish Bay. Fishing on Gypsy they raised 21
sailfish and released 5 on fly.
Feb 26 - The Beard group raised
20 sailfish on Chubascon and released 9 conventional. They also
raised 1 Blue marlin.
The Beard group raised 19 sailfish on Cayuco and
released 14 conventional.
The Barker Smith group raised 6 sailfish on Gypsy
and released 2 on fly.
Feb 27 - The Beard group raised
8 sailfish on Cayuco and released 4 conventional.
The Beard group raised 10 sailfish on Chubascon
and released 5 conventional.

and released 2 on fly.
Feb 28 - The Barker Smith group
raised 1 sail on Gypsy with 0 releases. The water was very rough
in the morning and they fished a 1/2 day.
Brian Wright arrived for his 5th trip to SBL and
Norman Scott arrived for his 2nd. The water settled down in the
afternoon and on Cayuco they raised 20 sailfish and released 13
conventional.
