May 2010 Fishing Report

May 4 - Philip Tucker & Justin Corwin arrived at Sailfish Bay to some slow fishing days. Fishing on Gypsy they raised 2 sailfish, with 1 strike on fly and 0 releases.

May 5 - The Tucker group raised 0 on Gypsy and released 0.

May 6 - The Tucker group raised 1 sailfish and 2 marlin on Gypsy. They released 1 Blue Marlin on fly.

May 12 - Allan & Lynette Hargen arrived from New Zealand. Fishing on Maverick they raised 5 sailfish, had 3 strikes and released 1 on fly. They also released 1 350 lb Blue Marlin conventional.

May 13 - The Hargen group raised 5 sailfish on Maverick with 2 strikes and 0 releases on fly.

May 14 - The Hargen group raised 7 sailfish on Maverick with 2 strikes and 0 releases on fly.

Montie & Joseph Turnbull arrived at Sailfish Bay. Fishing on Gypsy they raised 3 sailfish and released 2 conventional. They also caught 9 dorado.

May 15 - The Turnbull group raised 3 sailfish on Gypsy and released 2 conventional. They also caught 4 dorado. They also raised 1 Blue marlin.

May 16 - The Turnbull group raised 4 sailfish and released 2 conventional. They also raised and released 1 Blue marlin, caught 2 dorado and 40 yellowfin tuna.

April 2010 Fishing Report

April 1 - The Braddock group raised 25 sailfish on Sirena and released 19 conventional.

The Braddock group raised 24 sailfish on Maverick and released 15 conventional. They also released 1 Blue marlin.

The Braddock group raised 20 sailfish on Bavarian and released 10 conventional. They also caught 1 Striped marlin!

The Braddock group raised 6 sailfish on Ballena and released 4 conventional.

April 2 - The Braddock group raised 6 sailfish on Maverick and released 4 conventional.

The Braddock group raised 11 sailfish on Sirena and released 7 conventional.

The Braddock group raised 11 sailfish on Gypsy and released 5 conventional.

The Braddock group raised 16 sailfish on Bavarian and released 11 conventional. They also raised, hooked and later lost 1 Blue marlin.

April 3 - Chris and Cody Choate arrived at Sailfish Bay. Fishing on Gypsy they raised 15 sailfish and released 7 conventional.

April 4 - The Choate group raised 25 sailfish and released 13 conventional.

April 5 - Castaway Films arrived at Sailfish Bay to shoot some HD videos fly fishing for sailfish. Grant Wiswell, Aaron Ford, and Russ Hyde. Sometimes fish do not like cameras :)
Fishing on Maverick they raised 6 sails and released 0 on fly.

April 6 - The Castaway group raised 5 sailfish on Maverick, hooked 2 and released 1 on fly.

Don Langrock arrived for his 6th visit with us at SBL. He was joined by grandson Collin Hyslop. Fishing on Sirena they raised 5 sailfish and released 3 conventional.

April 7 - The Castaway group raised 3 sailfish on Gypsy with 2 strikes and released 1 on fly.

The Langrock group raised 6 sailfish on Sirena and released 6 conventional

April 8 - The Castaway group raised 9 sailfish on Gypsy with 6 strikes and released 3 on fly.

The Langrock group raised 8 sailfish on Sirena releasing 3 conventional and 1 on fly.

Jay & Jared Auslander arrived at Sailfish Bay. Fishing on Maverick they raised 9 sailfish and released 5 conventional.

April 9 - The Castaway group raised 6 sailfish on Gypsy with 3 strikes and 1 release on fly.

The Langrock group raised 3 sailfish on Sirena with strikes and released 0 on fly.

The Auslander group raised 9 sailfish on Maverick with 1 release conventional, 4 strikes and 1 release on fly.

April 10 - The Castaway group raised 15 sailfish on Gypsy with 7 strikes and 2 releases on fly.

The Auslander group raised 18 sailfish on Maverick releasing 5 conventional, 2 strikes and 1 release on fly. They also raised and hooked 1 Blue marlin that was a short fight.

April 15 - Les & Drew Vicary and Robert and Brett Theuerkauf arrived at Sailfish Bay. They raised 6 sailfish on Gypsy and released 3 conventional.

April 16 - The Vicary group raised 5 sailfish on Gypsy and released 3 conventional. They also raised 2 Blue marlin and released 1.

Chris, Jan, David and Cindy McCormick arrived at SBL. Fishing on Maverick they raised 2 sailfish and released 2 conventional. They also caught 2 dorado.

April 17 - The Vicary group raised 5 sailfish on Gypsy and released 0.

The McCormick group raised 5 sailfish on Maverick and released 2 conventional. They also raised and released 1 Blue marlin.

April 18 - The McCormick group raised 6 sailfish on Maverick and released 3 conventional. They also raised 2 marlin.

April 23 - A group of local clients fishing on Gypsy raised 4 sailfish and released 2 conventional.

April 28 - Another group of local clients fishing on Maverick raised 6 sailfish and released 4 conventional.
